In 2007, the "king of heels" celebrated his twentieth anniversary as a designer: an unmissable event in the world of high-end shoes. Michel Perry career started on a note of frustration. Enrolled at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Mons in Belgium, he was obliged to cut short his studies in 1970 to join his parents' Bata shoe-selling business. He rapidly set about designing for a number of Italian brands before launching his own collection, sold in his first boutique on rue de Turbigo in the 1990s. Today's shoe lovers can't get enough of his elegant pumps and skyscraper heels — and we love the fact that Michel Perry shoes are high on the list of accessories in Carrie Bradshaw's wardrobe! At fifty, Perry is now taking up his studies again at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. We're sure that this new experience will inspire his next collections!
